"Water cycle", my children LOVE IT! They cannot stop singing it!

"The Solar system" from Kids TV 1,2,3. Love it!!

"Animals" children love it! In fact, they LOVE Barefoot. Books and songs.

"Photosyntesis" this is a different but a very catchy song. Children enjoy singing it!

"The periodic table" I have not use it in my class, it is for older children. A friend showed it to me and I really liked it!

Books for teaching

Hi everyone!!!

Books are an extraordinary resource for teaching, both English and Science.

I use them a lot in class not only because children love them, but also because  with them, we can review vocabulary, structures, Science content...I find them really useful!!!

Books provide a great opportunity to talk , to ask and answer questions, to check if they can understand or not......
Here you have some of my favourites:

Animals :
" There was an old lady", "Monkey puzzle", " The Gruffalo" , " The Gruffalo´s Child", "Superworm", "Tiddler", " From head to toes" ( also for teaching body parts)....

Healthy and unhealthy food:
" What's in the witch's kitchen?" " Don´t put your finger in the jelly, Nelly" " Ketchup on your cornflakes" " The very hungry Caterpillar"

Plants and seasons:
"Tap the magic tree"

Senses:
"Bear's busy family" " The red dot".

Festivals/ Cultural
" Ten timid Ghosts" (Halloween and counting) , " Father Xmas needs a wee" (xmas and counting), Winnie and Wilbur meet Santa,  "All kinds of people" and "All kinds of beliefs".
I found most of them in Amazon.......
I hope you like them.

Find out about CLIL

This course is linked to another online course titled "New CLIL Methodology", that we offered last term.
Although they are different courses, you can find useful information about CLIL principles and characteristics on that course, which complete the contents in this CLIL for Science.

Our course focuses on specific aspects that you can apply to your subject, but if you want to deepen understanding of theory about CLIL methodology, I leave the following link with the blog that was made for that course.

I hope you can find useful information that complete some of the concepts we deal with.

Activating CLIL

This is a very interesting video about main concepts in CLIL.
We had the opportunity to work with Rebecca Place last year, in our face to face CLIL course and she is fantastic.

Hope you like it.
